This is a slots game that is based upon the classic Irish theme of Leprechauns and their gold. The backdrop to the game is the rolling hills of Ireland, with a
beautiful blue sky scattered with clover leaves blowing in the wind. There are no lucky four leaf clovers in the sky, but the player will find them nestled within
the game itself. To hint at the jackpot, there is a small golden path leading off into the distance to the foot of a rainbow where there is a pot of
gold just waiting to be discovered.
The game is in the classic 5 reel slot format and has a maximum of 25 winning lines available. There are two bonus features available in
this game in the form of a free spins round and a ‘Pick Me’ round.
The Lady is the key to triggering the Free Spins bonus game. When at least three symbols of The Lady appear left to right, then the free spins game is activated.
The Lady can appear in any position on each reel, but she must appear across consecutive reels from left to right. If only two symbols appear, then a prize is paid
out, if more symbols appear then prizes are paid out in addition to the free spins activation. The Lady gives twelve free spins, and during the free spins bonus
game all prizes are tripled. It is clear when The Lady provides you with a win because she smiles and winks at the player. It is also possible to trigger the ‘Pick Me’
feature during the free spins, thus giving the chance for even bigger wins.
The second bonus feature is activated when the wild symbol, the leprechaun, appears on the first and fifth reel within the game. They then turn into small logos
with the words ‘Pick Me’ written across them. The aim of the game is simple, pick one of the Leprechauns and he will reveal his prize. There are two types of prize
that may be revealed, one is a straight coin prize, and this signifies the end of the game, the other is a coin prize and either a ‘Pick Again’ or ‘Win All’ quote underneath
the win amount. These lead to either another pick to continue building the win, or you will win the maximum payout of the bonus game,
which is 100x the original bet amount.
The wild symbol in this game is the guardian of the gold himself, the leprechaun. He is a little man who is all dressed in green and holding one of his precious gold coins
in his hand. He can substitute for any other symbols, except for The Lady who must appear on all relevant reels to provide a win. When he is part of a winning line he
does a little jig and scatters gold around him. The Leprechaun is also the symbol that provides the largest win from a single symbol within the game. The top payout is
20 000 coins if five leprechaun symbols appear along a winning line and if the maximum bet of 25 lines and 2 coins are bet per spin. The leprechaun symbol also give
wins for 4, 3, 2 and 1 symbols appearing along a winning line. Note that the leprechaun as a winning symbol is not a scatter symbol. When the leprechaun takes the
place of another symbol, then as long as it appears in the winning line, it will be valid.
The Lady, as the scatter symbol, also has wins associated with her. The top payout is 100 coins for a 25 line bet and a 1 coin bet. Therefore the maximum win
available from The Lady winning lines is 200 coins, however it must be remembered that if three or more Lady symbols appear along a winning line then the bonus
free spin round is activated, which allow for some big additional wins.
Of the non-wild and non-scatter symbols, the one that provides the biggest wins is the close up scene of the golden path leading off towards the bottom of the rainbow.
The symbol is realistic in that the sun is shining and the rain is falling at the same time to produce the elusive rainbow. The top payout for this symbol is 2500 coins, but this
does assume that the maximum bet has been played. There are also payouts for 2, 3, or 4 symbols appearing along a winning line.
The next level of payout is provided by both the Pot of Gold symbol and also the Shamrock, or Lucky Four Leaf Clover, symbol. The symbols are cartoon depictions of the
items, with some nice shading to give an almost 3D effect. Although these symbols provide the same payouts for winning lines, they cannot be combined to provide a
winning combination. So for five pots of gold or five shamrocks appearing along a winning line, then the top payout for a maximum bet will be 1000 coins.
The playing card symbols also follow a similar pattern to the pot of gold and shamrock symbols in the way that they are paired up to give payouts of a certain amount,
but they cannot be combined to achieve the winning line. The ace and king provide a maximum payout of 300 coins for a maximum bet, the queen and jack allow a
maximum payout of 250 coins, and the 10 and 9 give a maximum payout of 200 coins, again for a maximum bet placed on that spin.
There is no overall soundtrack, but in the event of a win there are some catchy snippets of Irish Jigs played while the winnings are added to the main pot. All of the
symbols have small animations that play when they are part of a winning line.
Overall, this is a catchy slots game with a nice blend of standard and bonus game play. The betting amounts are nicely scaleable to allow both novice and higher
rolling players to get equal enjoyment out of the game play.
